Not sure if this will interest anyone ...

I've built a little web page that can be used to analyse your combat strength. You cut and paste the results from a fight and it analyses them and gives some general advice on how to improve your stats.

This is not a bot or script and has no way to connect to your actual Facebook account - it simply analyses the data entered and gives feedback. I don't think it breaks any rules and your identity remains anonymous.

But please don't this to the main Mafia Wars forum - it's not a secret, but I don't know how many hits my site can take.

Any feedback welcome.

Dave, this is a good tool. There is another calculator that was posted by Manuel Grabowski and tested by Marnie Bannister along with a few others. Here is a link to the thread discussing the sandbox that Manuel built.

Both tools are very informative, but one warning is that they are obviously not able to capture the value of defense items that do not show up in your attack weaponry. When you are attacked, as many people know, you use a different 501 of W-A-C. It is believed that both your best attack 501WAC and best defense 501WAC (along with attack and skill points) are used to determine the outcome of a fight.

I have a question for the group. Is there a consensus that the allocation of skill points to Attack or Defense matters? Or is the opinion that they are simply summed?

I've been following Marnie's experiments, but I think she's got it wrong ... to much guessing for my liking.

When you're attacked (ie you're defending) your 501WAC is different from when you're the attacker, but they're NOT used together. When you attack someone it's your 501WAC (attacking team) against their 501 WAC (defending team), and when they attack you it's the other way around. Only the WAC on view in the fight screen are used to determine the outcome.

I'm fairly sure (about 98% sure) that attack and defence skill points are just added together.

So the allocation of skill points is a non factor? I also agree that it is your the 501WAC is different for Attack and Defense. It has to be.

I suspected you were following the thread. Thanks for the info.

I always said that 2 were the Hypothesis:

1. The one stated in Manuel script.
2. WAC * (ATT+DEF)

David, your idea is still COMBAT STRENGTH = 501 * (ATT+DEF) + EQUIP ATT + EQUIP DEF ?

COMBAT SCORE

Combat Score is a value ranging from 1 to 2500+ that reflects the strength of your Mafia in a fight against another player. The value is calculated using your Attack/Defence stats, your Mafia Size and the Equipment (weapons, armor and vehicles) that you take into a fight. Compare your score with friends to see who is the strongest!

We can conclude that Don Roberto Luciano has a Combat Score less or equal to 584.




In David's formula, if Don Roberto Luciano had 310 attack and 310 defense, He would have won. Doesn't make sense with that ridiculous equipment.

Yes ... COMBAT STRENGTH = MAFIA * (ATT+DEF) + EQUIP ATT + EQUIP DEF

If Don Roberto Luciano had 310 attack and 310 defense, He would have won, and if Don Roberto Luciano had 310 attack and 309 defense, He would have LOST. It doesn't have to make sense - BUT at the time this fight took place, Don Roberto must have a combined ATT+DEF score of 619 or less.
